GHOST TALES OF CHLORIDE
Ahhhh......in time for Halloween or anytime for that matter, we have ghosts in Chloride and the surrounds.
Mineral Park...workers at the mine report seeing a gentleman sitting up above them on a cement wall. He is middle aged and is wearing black pants, a white shirt and a flat brimmed hat; he just seems to be watching what is going on. Realizing he doesn’t belong there, the workers begin to approach him to recommend that he leave the area. He vanishes into thin air right before their eyes. They go back to work and glance up above them and again, there he sits. Each time he is approached, he dematerializes...an old miner? Returning to see how things are done now? No one knows for sure, they just know he is there and then he isn’t!
Mineral Park...inside the office building on the night shift, workers hear people talking (though they can’t understand the words), they hear filing cabinets opening and closing, they hear people walking through the corridors; sometimes they see people walking around and they too vanish when they are approached or spoken to. Some workers quit, they won’t go back into that building.
Mineral Park...making their rounds; watchmen frequently pass through areas of the mine property that cause their hair to stand up whether it is day or night. At the mill it is totally black above the moly part of the plant; suddenly a glow would rise from the darkness of the plant. Right after the plant was purchased by Cyprus, a Mr. Hernandez went into this mill. When he came out he said he would never go back into the mill again.
Chloride...in a certain building along Tennessee, a dark skinned woman with long black hair walks through in broad daylight and disappears. Voices are heard, music also, doors open and close, foot steps are heard and there are only one or two people in the building and they are talking, singing, or moving around and in fact they are in the same room together while all of this is going on.
Chloride...at night, the mountains behind Chloride light up for no apparent reason. These lights appear where no lights should be, no electricity or roads around for cars where these lights suddenly show up.
